Mike Corry has served his clients for 38 years as an Executive Benefit Consultant. The Todd Organization and its strategic partner, The Newport Group, provide qualified and non-qualified retirement plan sponsors with Consulting, Asset Management, Communication and Education, and Third Party Administration.
Mike represents the interest of Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Plan Sponsors in Congress and with the IRS. Mike served on the Board of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU) in Washington D.C. from 2002-2010 and as the President in 2008-2009. AALU led the efforts to keep the favorable tax treatment of Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Plans and Corporate Owned Life Insurance (COLI). Mike was very involved in the development and passage of legislation that clarified the rules for Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Plans and COLI in 2004-2006. He also helped create a Task Force that is on guard and will quickly mobilize should Congress consider legislation that would alter the current tax treatment of Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Plans and Corporate Owned Life Insurance.
Mike is a frequent speaker, having spoken recently at the national conferences of the International Forum, AALU, the Society of Financial Service Professionals, and the Institute of International Research. Mike has been published on the topic of executive benefits, including several articles for The Journal of Compensation and Benefits and The Journal of Taxation of Employee Benefits.
